Xeomin is a muscle relaxer. It inhibits the normal nerve impulses responsible for activating the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles such as frown and worry lines. This allows the muscles to relax, causing deep forehead furrows to diminish over time.

Xeomin is often referred to as the botox alternative, as it is formulated using the same ingredient and has a similar action. However, Xeomin is a purer version, because it does not contain any additives, and the possible advantage is that it is less likely to cause an allergic reaction.

Xeomin injections

Xeomin is injected into the targeted muscles where it works to improve the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. The procedure takes about 15 minutes to complete and has minimal discomfort or downtime. Patients can, therefore, get back to regular activities right away.

Results with Xeomin

It typically takes 2 to 3 days before some results with Xeomin are seen, but the full improvements can take up to 10 days.  The effects of Xeomin last for 4-6 months, therefore follow-up treatments are necessary in order to maintain the results.
