Excess fat or skin under the neck can result in an aged and dropping appearance. If you struggle with neck sagging, wrinkles, or folds and want a lifted and rejuvenated appearance, you may be a good candidate for a neck lift.
What is a Neck Lift?
A neck lift is a procedure that can rejuvenate and tighten the neck, giving you a more youthful appearance. A neck lift procedure accomplishes this by removing excess fatty deposits and excess or loose skin under the chin. During the treatment, your practitioner will also readjust muscles that may have sagged with age. The result is a firmer, more contoured, and youthful-looking neck.
How Long Does a Neck Lift Last?
A neck lift is an excellent choice for neck rejuvenation because the results are long-lasting. The results of a neck lift can last about 10 years, though may vary from person to person. Over time, your neck will still age and lose elasticity, though you may notice that the sagging is not as prominent as before. To help prolong the results of your neck lift, you should wear sunscreen diligently, refrain from smoking, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
What are the Benefits of a Necklift?
Neck lifts can provide several benefits for individuals looking for a neck rejuvenation treatment. With a neck lift, you can see benefits such as:
- Improved neck sagging
- Smoothed wrinkles and folds
- A lifted appearance
- Improved appearance of jowls or “turkey neck”

What is Recovery From a Necklift Like?
A week before your neck lift treatment, we will provide you with a detailed recovery plan that includes tips for optimal recovery and a schedule of follow-up appointments. We recommend having a friend or family member drive you home and assist you for a few days after your procedure. You will receive a chin strap after your treatment, which will be essential for minimizing swelling and achieving the best results.
While you are recovering, you will need to refrain from exercising. It may be helpful to prepare some meals and entertainment before your treatment so you can focus on resting in bed or on the couch for the first week of recovery. Make sure to sleep with your head elevated to prevent swelling or pain.
It will take some time before you are ready to return to work, so be prepared to take one or two weeks off. It may take two to three weeks for bruising to fade and up to three months for swelling to dissipate. If any questions arise during recovery, be sure to reach out to our team at Awaken Aesthetics.
