Does Microdermabrasion Shrink Large Pores?

If you answered with “big pores”, then it’s time to admit something to yourself: you’re going to need more than an over-the-counter treatment to tackle enlarged pores.  This type of pore is often caused by one – or both! – of the following:

  • Genetics: If your parents have enlarged pores, then we hate to break it to you – but you probably got it from them. Enlarged pores are typically caused by oily skin, which can stretch the size of pores.  Additionally, oily skin tends to be more acne-prone, which can also exacerbate the appearance of pores.
  • Age: As we get older, our skin begins to lose valuable elasticity. This drooping effect can cause pores to appear larger.  If you worshiped the sun in your younger years, sun damage can also increase the size of pores.

Since enlarged pores are typically caused by age, sun damage, and/or genetics, this means you need something more powerful than a drugstore cream to shrink pores.
