Common Causes of Hair Loss in Women

Hair loss is frequently considered a male problem, but it does occur in women as well. When hair loss occurs in women, it often has different causes than hair loss in men. Here are some of the most common reasons for female hair loss, along with the most frequent treatments used to mitigate the issue.

Genetic Predispositions

Like men, women can be genetically predisposed towards the loss of their hair. Women can determine if this is a possibility by looking at the women in their family; if hair loss occurs frequently in other family members, it is likely to be genetic.
