elotero is an injectable filler that can dramatically improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, especially those around the mouth and eyes. Belotero also replenishes volume in the undereye and cheek areas, and can also be used for lip augmentation.
Belotero is a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler, and the injection of HA into the skin adds volume and moisture, restoring youthfulness and radiance. When compared to other HA fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, Belotero is a lighter formulation, which makes it more effective for use in the delicate area under the eyes. Belotero can also reduce skin imperfections such as acne scars.
Belotero injections take about 30 minutes to complete, and the procedure is done with a very small needle. Although the injections are not painful, a topical anesthetic may be used prior to treatment for added comfort.
There is no downtime, so patients can resume regular activities after treatment. Minor swelling, bruising, and redness, are the most common side-effects associated with Belotero treatment.
Who is a good candidate?
Belotero is suitable for all skin types and is beneficial for individuals with crow’s feet, or hollow areas beneath the eyes and along the cheeks.
Belotero results can be seen immediately. However, since HA has the ability to boost collagen production, improvements will continue after treatment, as the supply of collagen in the skin increases. The effects of Belotero can last between 6 to 9 months, but this often depends on where it is used.
Belotero injections are considered very safe, but patients must ensure that they go to an experienced aesthetic provider for consultation. At Awaken Aesthetics we have a team of licensed medical practitioners who are also very experienced injectors.
