reconstructive surgery is a facial procedure that’s designed to correct problems caused by birth defects, traumatic injury, and Mohs surgery. The goal is to repair or restore the patient’s appearance in a natural and safe manner. Ideal candidates for reconstructive surgery are healthy nonsmoking individuals who are displeased with their facial appearance as a result of traumatic injury, birth deformity, or Mohs surgery.

The procedure

Reconstructive surgical methods may vary according to what needs to be treated. In cases where a patient had skin removed during Mohs surgery, the plastic surgeon will repair facial muscles and graft skin to the treated area to restore the original appearance.

Each reconstructive surgery is highly personalized and tailored to the patient’s specific needs. The final reconstructive surgery procedure will be determined during the initial consultation.
