What is Jeuveau®?
Jeuveau®, often called “Newtox,” is a neurotoxin injectable that relaxes lines and wrinkles. Like other neurotoxins, Jeuveau® uses botulinum toxin. This compound works by stopping your facial nerves from signaling the targeted muscles. Without signals from the nerve, your facial muscles relax, and your skin becomes smooth. Jeuveau® is injected in tiny amounts, only affecting the targeted facial nerves. Jeuveau® is FDA-approved for glabellar lines (vertical lines between the brows) but can be used for other applications.
How Long Does Jeuveau® Last?
Jeuveau® results can appear within a day or two and fully develop within ten days. The results last three to four months for most people. Others may find that it lasts longer or wears off more quickly. As with other botulinum toxin products, Jeuveau® has no permanent effect on the muscles or nerves. As it wears off, signals return to normal. We will help you develop a schedule that keeps your wrinkles looking smooth and relaxed.
How is Jeuveau® Different From Botox®?
Jeuveau® shares many characteristics with Botox®. Both use botulinum toxin to exert their effects on facial nerves. Many people find that the results of Jeuveau® appear more quickly and wear off more naturally. Your provider may need to use less Jeuveau® to achieve the same results. The two products use different accessory proteins to stabilize them as they reach the nerves, but botulinum toxin provides the active effects in both cases.

Is There Any Downtime With Jeuveau®?
Jeuveau® injections often take less than 15 minutes. You can return to your usual schedule afterward with no downtime. Some people notice spots of redness, bruising, or swelling that lasts a day or two. These should not limit you from your daily routine, and many people have Jeuveau® on a lunch break and return to work immediately.
Am I a Good Candidate for Jeuveau®?
Jeuveau® is FDA-approved and extensively tested. Almost anyone makes a good candidate for this wrinkle-smoothing treatment. Good candidates should have reasonable expectations. You should not have Jeuveau® if you have an infection in the treatment area or certain medical conditions.
